Ashdod
Beach project; Urban Revival for the City of Ashdod
The architectural lines echo the wavy shoreline in its wave like dynamic form. The design and shape create harmony adapted to and enhancing the natural surroundings. The lower base of the building is covered in sand colored stone complementing the sandy dunes and the beach. Sea colored reflective glass rises above the stone reinforcing the union of the sea, the beach and the building as one. |
The city of Ashdod, where
the sand dunes reaching the Mediterranean sea and the largest port in
Israel are the background for the “Ashdod Beach
project”. A sophisticated 13 floors structure with 146 sea
viewing vacation apartments, fitted with an elegant lobby, commercial
space, underground parking and recreational areas for residents.

The
wave-like plan of the building also resembles a ship. The lower part of
the ship is surrounded by blue glass, as the bow of the ship rushes
through the sea water. the sand colored lower section of the ship is
surrounded by round look-out balconies, like drops of salty water. Above
the ship a huge glass wave rises from the western sea reaching out towards
the east. In
spite of 146 residential
units and the multifunctional environment, the building is not
overwhelming. In fact, the building appears elegant, graceful and modest,
the building is also very simple to operate and maintain. Advanced
computer technology allowed the development of the uniqe architectural
design and construction of this complex building. Pioneer breakthroughs
and developments in architectural engineering for sea shore regions
brought this project to fulfillment.
